Strategic Visioning: Stepping in the Stream

Strategic Visioning:
Stepping in the Stream

Too often in our churches, we get so busy doing the “good things” we can’t get to the “God-things” we have been uniquely called to do. However, to know what the “God-things” are, we must engage in an intentional process of discerning God’s Vision for our church.

Stepping in the Stream: Strategic Visioning is a biblical process for discerning God’s unique purpose and Vision for the church by listening to God, one another, and the needs of our neighbors. This unique Plowpoint process utilizes the book, Stepping in the Stream: Learning to Relate to the Will of God by Beth M. Crissman.
At the completion of the Stepping in the Stream process, participants will have:

  • Clear understanding of the church’s history and how it informs their future
  • Commitment to practice the spiritual disciplines
  • Clearly defined biblical boundaries to protect the integrity of the church’s relationships and ministries
  • Essential biblical skills to transform conflict for ministry refinement
  • Demographic data that clarifies the church’s neighbors and their needs
  • Identification of leading spiritual gifts and passions for within the congregation and staff
  • Clarification and articulation of the God’s renewed vision for the church
  • Process for identification and implementation of key ministry strategies to put the church’s vision into action.
